5G and Data Management in Increasingly Automated Supply Chains

Harry Todd
As Industrial Automation accelerates throughout Australia and ever-advancing technology defines processes throughout the warehousing and supply chain industries, faster, low-latency industrial networks and effective data management practices are only increasing in importance.

From IoT to AI, and everything in between, a high-speed, low latency connection has never been more important, providing a challenge for businesses looking to remain on the cutting edge of industrial transformation as they search for ways to continually improve upon their network speeds and automate as efficiently as possible. 5G is quickly becoming essential in an environment where any slowdown due to high latency or low data speeds can have a domino effect on entire processes.

As industry leaders convert to the age of data-driven supply chain, data collection has become easier than ever, and its use in predicting and managing resources has become incredibly important. Yet, many businesses are not using their data to maximum potential - they are reluctant to share it or struggle with the technology needed to leverage it. This places these businesses on the backfoot in highly competitive industries, where one must take every advantage to ensure efficiency in their processes. A highly optimised supply chain.
