Hyundai Launches Next Generation B-X Series High-Voltage Electric Forklifts
Hyundai Material Handling has introduced its new B-X Series High-Voltage Electric Forklift range, delivering diesel-like performance, zero direct emissions, fast charging and heavy-duty capability for demanding indoor and outdoor applications.
The new Hyundai B-X Series marks a major step forward in electric material handling, bringing high-voltage lithium-ion performance to applications traditionally dominated by diesel forklifts. The range currently covers 4.0 to 9.0 tonne capacities, with models including the 40/45/50/55B-X and 60/70/80/90B-X/80B-XL. Hyundai has also indicated heavier 10–13 tonne and 16–18 tonne models are planned for release in 2026.
At the heart of the B-X Series is a 309–348V high-voltage lithium-ion system, designed to reduce current draw, minimise energy loss, lower heat generation and extend component life. Hyundai says the platform delivers engine-like performance, with fast travel and lift speeds, while maintaining the advantages of electric operation.
The B-X range uses LFP lithium iron phosphate battery technology, supported by rapid charging, opportunity charging and battery thermal management. Depending on configuration and operating conditions, Hyundai reports up to 11 hours of operation and approximately 2-hour charging, with charger options including 20kW, 40kW and 120kW.
Built for harsh industrial environments, the B-X Series is designed for both indoor and outdoor operation. Key components are sealed for dust and water protection, with Hyundai listing IP67 and IP69K ratings across major components. The forklifts are also engineered for rain, cold and wash-down environments, making them suitable for manufacturing, logistics, timber, ports, concrete, recycling and heavy industrial applications.
Operator comfort has also been a major focus. The B-X Series features reduced noise and vibration, selectable drive modes, smart LCD display, anti-roll-back, regenerative braking, optional climate control, mast damping and familiar diesel-style layout to support an easier transition for operators.
Safety technology includes Hyundai’s Operator Presence Sensing System, optional pedestrian detection, optional load sensing, Blue Spot and Red Zone lighting, auto hold, auto parking, speed limiting, high-voltage cable safety design and a manual service disconnect for high-voltage isolation during maintenance.
The B-X Series has already gained international recognition, receiving the 2025 Product of the Year award in the lift trucks and accessories category from Material Handling Product News and Material Handling 24/7.*
For Australian businesses looking to reduce emissions without sacrificing productivity, the Hyundai B-X Series offers a practical high-performance alternative to diesel forklifts. With heavy-duty capacity, fast charging, low maintenance requirements and Hyundai’s proven engineering platform, the B-X range represents a new era in electric material handling.
